Cozy Toes

About eight years ago I taught myself to knit. I didn't do anything more than scarves for several years, and then I decided to be bold and try something harder. I dove right in with a baby sweater that turned out beautifully. Since then I've had the confidence to try just about anything (it's just yarn after all), but something kept holding me back from knitting socks. This fall I finally started knitting socks, and since then my boys have become total sock snobs.

This is the yarn I used for the most recent pair. It's Loops & Threads Luxury Sock in Ocean. It's a wool blend, which is really nice considering it keeps the cost lower for socks that will quickly be outgrown by L.W. I really didn't have a clue how the socks would stripe or blend, but I couldn't have been happier with the results. I ran the yarn out a bit to make sure the stripes would match up. Not something you would need to do, but since one skein is more than enough for a kid's pair of socks, I decided to go for it.

Now, we have another pair of cozy, hand-knit socks to add to the rotation for the never-ending winter of 2014.
